Second small update today, I fixed permanently everything in cockpit and added seatbelts. Tamiya provided nice textile stickers and photo-etch buckles, it all went together very easily.
And then... a moment for which I waited since I opened the box for the first time. I remember being surprised how heavy it was, and this is the reason for the added weight - the kit includes a sturdy, cast metal floor. After installing, the whole assembly becomes rigid, quite heavy, and starts really looking like a car.
And that's all for today. Now I need to wait for the replacement part arrive so I can complete the dashboard, and for some carbon fiber decals to come back in stock at Hiroboy so I can finish the rear fenders and engine compartment. So I'm going to leave all the interior stuff for a few weeks and focus on the body elements for now.Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

A bit more progress, I have installed front intake PE grilles and front fenders:
The next bit took me a good four days of masking and painting. For some reason Tamiya chose to provide the whole front storage space as one part made of white metal. It wouldn't be that bad if not for the fact it had to be painted in three different colours, so I got through two rolls of Tamiya masking tape before I was done.
Actually, well, this might explain why they did it. And although I support their desire to sell more tape, it would be much easier if the parts were separate - and the potential breakdown really doesn't look that complex. Anyway, we got through this and the worst is behind us. Or not. Did I mention the interior door panels? Four colours to mask, somebody shoot me now, please.
The metallic grey area (outermost) is the first time the future body colour is introduced. In reality it's a bit darker, I'll have to see what I can do to photograph it more as it really is. The colour name is "Seal Grey".
Anyway, this is the part together with some smaller pieces added, and then dry-fitted on the car.
And the last thing are the rear air duct / filters. After taking the pictures I realised the three thin silver bands on the air ducts are supposed to be one band, so I filled the space between the three hairline bands with more silver paint - but that is not pictured here. For now admire my mistake  - on its own and dry-fitted.
And that's all for now. I'm starting to run out of things I can do before the carbon fibre arrives and I can finish the rear fenders - so I guess it's time to courage up and start working on the body parts.Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

Almost perfect. Just takes ages as everything needs to dry properly, and not everything should be gloss-varnished so another layer is in order at the end to give the right shine (or make it satin/flat). Small update... The work has been progressing slowly, partially due to me being away from the country for the last weekend, and partially because of the nature of things at this stage of the build. But s few items has been done and I'm quite surprised with the fact that there is not much left to do - I think I will be done within two weeks.
So, at last I managed to get some carbon fibre decals - awfully thick and difficult to force to conform to curvatures, but in the end they turned out quite well (thanks to generous application of SolvaSet). This allowed me to finish and install rear fenders:
Front element housing lights and the large front intake has been painted satin black, and the lights have been installed:
Now, bulk of the time was spent priming, puttying, sanding, priming, wet sanding, inspecting, sanding and priming once more, of the all body panels. Unfortunately I got so engrossed in this stage ("has to be perfect...", "one more mark to remove...", "damn, a mote of dust got stuck in the primer...", etc.), that I missed the opportunity to take some in-progress shots. So, behold, fast forward to body panels painted with Zero Paints "Seal Grey Metallic" (no clear coat yet):
I'd like to take the opportunity to say that the Mr Airbrush / Procon Boy PS-290 with a fan-shaped spray pattern is the best tool I have ever used for this kind of work. This was the first time I've been using this wonderful airbrush and I can't recommend it enough. Near-perfect finish on the first try.
There are just a few small imperfections left that I will sand and coat again tomorrow, and then it all will be ready for clearcoating. Then - last elements will have to be prepared, and a final assembly will commence.
So... thanks for looking in, hope you are enjoying watching this build as much as I'm building this kit. I think it might be one of the finest kits ever made.
