I've been a member od this forum for a year now but have not contributed a build log. A bit late? Perhaps, but there are some of our shipmates that are late starters, so this is for them.
So here goes...starting with the bow section and the first of the frames.

Hi jonny! Cool

It doesn't matter when you start a build dairy, I'm just glad you have. I found it a great help, it makes you think what you're doing and the brake from building can save you from rushing ahead. It's good to stop and reflect on your work, keep the rest of us upto date on your build.

Good luck mate!

In my last posting I mentioned the infamous Rib 15 and here is how I dealt with it? There needed to be some build up of frames where they had to be level with the false keel, and also in places where the planking would need to come into contact with the frames...these areas I used spare strips of 2mm x 1mm planking super glued to the frames where needed and sanded down.

And then the faring commenced stern to bow using a spare length of wood to ensure that the planking would fit evenly onto the frames? Well that's the lot for now shipmates..More to come...Happy building...

Hi Johnny

Which technique did you use to pull that troublesome rib 15 back online?

This is the thing that's still holding me back on my build.

Your build is looking very good.

Kind regards

Tony

Once more into the breech...I side view with the first line of gun ports marked out:

She's taking shape...now, how many among you, who are absent minded as me, got it in mind to measure two or three timesc and only cut once? So I have this habit of writing the measurements down on the hull itself as I go along??? From here on, the hull begins to a wooden note pad than a ship...
LOL

Now to cut the gun ports out...How many did you say???...Blink

She's never going to float with all them holes in her...LOL

Onwards and upwards...Laugh

Thanks for the comments...I have built up rib 15 where needed on the outside and on the inside where the top of rib 15 took an inward direction...I gently sanded it back, but always checking with each layer of planking that I applied...so far, it has not been too much of a problem..Hope I have helped???

The second row of gun ports are completed and planking continues:

Yet another row of ports cut into place...and by this time, I began to suffer serious knuckle cramp...Blink

Oh well, work continues??

Okay, it's not perfect...But I'm getting there!!

Oh well...can't build up any more, so I best head downwards...Huh

Adding some lining to the gun ports...Oh Lord it looks rough...but when sanded...well, you heard tghe story about the ugly duckling...haven't you???

And after running into problem after problem...planks not sitting right, planks not so wide or as thick as I expected, I plodded on...Blink
