Hi thanks to every one who looked in, and left comments much appreciated. Since last time I have finished building up the main girder.painted it up to its basic grey.done the same with the central joining assembly's. And made the other 2 spreader arms that go in front and rear of main girders.as mentioned before I had small gap to take care of in these due to bow in the main girders.I done these by simply removing the connection point on these and glued on plasticard. But on assembly the front also had a slight twist in it to. This resulted in one girder having a 2mm gap on truck bed one side. So had to sand a taper in front pair to get this to sit flat again. Trial an error finally got it to sit correctly. Still got Lil to do on one truck. Put the 160 decals on.needed head magnifier on these just to make sure writing not upside down. I finished the base eventually. And worked out there enough room on track for br 52 locomotives to sit on to. So got 2 on order. Hoping to get rest what needs painting done soon so can finally glue some of it together.cheers and happy moddeling mick. BigGrin hi p's I also repainted all the wheels so they were brighter.

Hi all today I made up the girders that support the barrel. There are a couple of errors on the instructions here page 24. The 2 hooks need to be swapped around. They are shown correct on page 25, the opposite side. Also they are 1mm to wide to fit the recess. Had to sand them down to get them in. Also the handwheel is marked as E15. It ain't you need H45 instead. Now I'm not going to tell you how long it took to go through a 1000 parts, and the whole instruction book to find these. Other thing to note is nearly all the holes for the pipework are to tight. So had to drill most of them out. I show pic in instructions to make this all clearer. Cheers mick. BigGrin

Hi all thanks to all who looked in and left comments much appreciated. Done bit more on this, though it mainly painting. The second main girder bin finished and the central parts this all now glued together. The barrel and girders bin started, could not resist putting it on to see how it looked.added the railings to to bottom. Remade the mirrors I broke out of paper clips and plasticard. Now has all 8. Next be finish the girder one side and then paint all Lil bits that need adding. The Lil fella in some pics for scale. I think he feeling rather small. Cheers and happy moddeling mick. BigGrin

Hi thanks Al and Alan, for looking in and comments left. We decided to do some fiddly bits ie handrails and the walkway. Now to call these delicate is a understatement. A fly breaking wind would break these .this is not in instruction order but I decided they be easier to do now than working over rest of the model attaching these bits later on. The last brace support for walkway is best put in after walkway is glued on as it only has single but joint on girder before this.and the chance of it staying there is zero. Cheers mick. BigGrin
