Hi Andy, The build is looking fantastic. How did you get the Aluminium look on the boot panels? is it a polishing of the die cast part? Malc.

Thanks for looking in both of you and your comments @ Malc, Here's how I achieved the mottled effect on the panels also the rear parts that are have the aluminium finish are resin parts. A while ago now I bought some of Vallejo's Chipping Medium and noticed if applied straight from the bottle even on washed parts you would get the effect of pooling/ patches uncovered parts as if there was oil on the parts surface. I then experimented and after several tries I could get the overall effect effect that's on the panels. Because the chipping solution is water based you need to let it dry out completely then use a car undercoat that's oil based to seal it. Once the undercoat is fully cured just paint as normal with water based paints. By the way if you dilute the Chipping Medium it covers as it should without pooling. Hope this helps. Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

That looks fantastic Andy.I think the aluminum parts look really good.Aluminum is such a hard finish to get right and you have nailed it.
looking forward to seeing that iconic body shell and color although it seems like a shame to cover up the masterpiece of a chassis

Hi All On with the build, the central floorpan/cockpit area was first painted then the faux suede carpet added this was then fixed to the chassis. next the pedal box was fixed and the cover added along with the throttle pedal and linkage to the carburetta. The steering shaft was added next along with the gear stick, brake, extinguisher and battery. The brake handle and gear leaver top material is heat shrink tube simple slide over heat and trim off the excess. The decal was then added to the top of the gear lever along with the Cobra body decal. MFH do provide an etch plate for the body decal but its half the size it should be so I didnt use it. Made up the radiator assembly, placed some engine cooling/oil pipework and added it along with the body pipe work and fire wall. Next its adding the inner front wheel wells and the assembly of the dash and steering wheel. More soon Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

awesome Andy. Really like the carpet effect on this one. Looks totally in scale. Was this part of the kit or is it something you have added as an extra to your build? Happy Modelling

Great build, I've been watching along. Aren't there small vacuums for cleaning keyboards? Wouldn't one oif them be of use here to clean the carpets? I'd do it regularly to prevent anything sticking, but particularly before you close off any bodywork. Keep up the great work, I'll be interested to see how it continues.
