I was going to suggest this a while back but thought it may be too "off the wall"
However since seeing the reaction to the new desk clock part work this may be of interest to some.
And the idea.........

To those who don't know the fragments of this incredible machine were discovered off the coast of the Greek island of
Antikythera in 1901, but it's significance wasn't realised until it was seen under x-ray in the late 1960's.
It consists of 30 interlocking bronze gears designed to predict the motion of the planets for up to 90 years into the future.
It predicted the motion of the moon and eclipses, the movement of major stars, and earth event timings like the olympic games.
The original is believed to have coloured glass balls on rods to represent the planets. Red for Mars gold for the sun etc.
It was covered with zodiac signs and instructions in ancient Greek.
Because the mechanism is unique and in many pieces there have been many interpretations when recreating the mechanism as
to how it originally looked.

The second one is a wooden kit and there is also a Lego kit available.
I just think if designed right, this would make a very interesting kit. It would appeal to the Orrery and Orbiter buyers, people who are interested in clocks, Historians and so on. Made out of brass with coloured globes and wood, it would look amazing.
