Hi benny! You are getting on well with your double planking mate, look's very nice! If you do get any splinter's on the plank edge that leave a gap between the planks, after fitting the planks add a little glue into any gap's then sand with 120 or 240 grit sand paper, the fine sawdust will fill the gap's. I've had to do this in a couple of places on my hull.

now for the entry port side panels..i used a dremel engraving tool and a steel rule to get the lines as you can see the one on the left was the one i used x4..the one on the right wasnt any good because the lines didnt line up so they were discarded..i have tried to take a pic of them fitted but i couldnt get a decent snap as you can see this pic is of them dry fitted cheers benny

hi i have now completed the veneer on the bottom of the hull except a couple of layers near the keel which i will finish when the keel is fitted ,when it turns up..i have stained what i have done but took the pics of it still wet ,when it dries it will be a dull finish until i decide on the finish cheers benny

i have started the second planking on the upper hull,i have hopefully achieve the desired gunport recess affect..in these pics i have only got to the middle gunports..is hard to see but i have only got to the 8th layer from the bottom,i have got some sanding to do and i will paint the upper hull yellow ochra before i tape around the ports to finally paint the ports red ochra cheers benny

some pictures of my finished hull i am not going the copper plate route because to be honest the only people who know the vic is copper plated is us and not our family or friends who will be the ones who will be looking at it,i am happy with them seeing stained planking,anyway the finish is sadolin walnut exterior woodstain,also i think it looks better cheers benny
