This Man Flu has really floored me but this morning I got up feeling a good bit better so I thought I'd cheer myself up and actually start the R2 build!

Seeing as I had 4 issues to kick off with I knew that I could get some progress done in one swoop.

The quality of the parts are excellent and now can't wait for my next batch of issues to arrive!

So here's where I'm at now at the end of issue 4. The parts are all safely stored away in a box in the spare room!

Thanks guys, today gave me a wee lift making a start on R2 and it was most enjoyable to finally take part myself. I've watched lots of video diary's on youtube and read all the posts in here and when I finally had a sizeable amount of issues I was floored (typical) lol. On wards and upwards from now on!

I've been reading the builds in here with interest and watching other folks builds on youtube and one tip I found was to pick up a pill box to store the screws in, so today while I was at my local shopping mall I popped in to Poundworld to see what they had and picked this up

It breaks down so you can have 4 boxes rather than one big tray. Not bad for a quid I reckon!

Hopefully my next 4 issues will be here in the next few days so I can crack on with my build BigGrin

Good to see you've made a start on your build - always a good way to get over the flu.

On Wednesday 16th March I took delivery of issues 5 to 8 and today I wasted no time and put the bits together. I also received my first ring binder BigGrin

Lots of nuts/ bolts and screws in issue 5 but not a lot to do really lol

Five minutes work and this issue was done Blink

Issue 6 was also a quick build Blink

Not a lot to it really Bored

Issue 7, not much to say about this really Cool

Issue 8 and the top of the inner dome is starting to come together!

When building the top ring, there is a misprint in the magazine. In step 1 it tells you to "use the screws supplied with issue 7" to secure the frame connector. This information is incorrect and you should use the smaller silver screws that you received in issue 5.

So here's where I'm at now Mellow

Today I came home from work to receive a nice Easter present from my wife, a chocolate R2D2! I don't think I will enjoy eating him lol

He's making friends with my other Atroo's but sadly has no idea of his pending fate Crying

Anyway on to my build. On Monday I received issues 9-12 so on Tuesday I set about building these issues up BigGrin

The dome is now really starting to take shape. I fitted the protective plastic back on his eye to help prevent it from being scratched

Well thats all for this month and I can't wait until my next delivery BigGrin
