Hi Demick

Nice job, and I think you may have missed one of the gun ports on the middle deck at the bow.

Welcome to the forum demeck; it might be the angle of photo but in your final photo it appears that the final stern frame 34 has not been sanded flush with the keel thus giving a bulge look to it?

Hello Mr T thx for reply , yep you are right its not flush. but then i dont recall any reference to making it flush. but i have never built anything like this before and the whole experience is new to me so ill put that down to being a noobie.

That being said . if theres one thiing i have learnt working on building sites doing a variety of jobs. there is nothing you cant work around or get over. I am only currently on issue 34 but have manged to move along with the planking due to the pdf issues which were available up to issue 46.

But im leaning more towards it being the angle of the photo. The lines of the hull are smooth and curving, looking at it from all angles it runs true and i wouldnt settle for anything other then that (anal about things like that). And this is only a rough sanding as i move down the planking

swap if ya likeFlapper

Have another look at the photo at step 4 of issue 20 which clearly shows both halves of frame 34 having been sanded flush with the keel, you'll need to do this otherwise the stern of your ship won't look right and the bulge will encroach onto the stern post which you've yet to add.

i was looking forward to a love affair mr t but you broke me heart ..lol.

on a more serious note..if you think its gonna be that odd to look at i can pull the planks i guess , hopefully keep them intact to reuse.

its only 1 mill high..mm

A bulge along the stern post will look out of place, its your choice and your model, you did ask for feedback BigGrin

HI demeck

Welcome to the nut house.

What Mr T means is that the last frame - 34 (the two halves which we fixed under the transom and against the false keel), should be sanded in line with the angle of the false keel. This is where the rudder will hang off, with a keel post in between. Will be fitted later, with the main keel and Bow.

Without the correct sanding, the planking will overlap parts 34, onto the false keel and the future stern post, and will not look correct when viewed from the side.

As Tomick said, it may be the photo, but when I sanded mine, there was no 'Dark' false keel between parts 34.

Check out Issue 25, pg 12 photo's 1 and 2. They will give you an idea. More info is available from the individual members builds.

Other than that, all looks great.

Carry on the great work.

See Ya. Wink
