Well, here she is, the L’Hermione La Fayette. The ship was first described by Tomick, as a reminder here is a link to his post:

The kit is very well packaged in a well presented cardboard box. The box contents rest on a strong cardboard backing piece and wrapped in cellophane so nothing can move around during transit. It also means the frets containing the keel and ribs are kept very flat, less chance of any distortion and certainly less chance of parts going astray.
All the wood is of very high quality and I can see very little variations in the colour of the wood supplied. The cast pieces are again of high quality although some do show signs of slight cast lines and burrs so a little cleaning up will be required. Brass etch is also of high quality and very detailed.
There is also an option to purchase additional items such as the figurines and these will be available soon through the MS Shop.
It is not my intention here to show the complete contents of the box. There is a video here that shows the full box contents and well worth watching, it is much better than anything I can describe:

The kit also contains a poster, 1:1 scale showing images of the ship which I think is a very nice touch, it will also act as a good reference guide when needed. A DVD is also provided and contains not only the very detailed build instructions, (these are also available as downloadable PDFs on the MS Website) but also excellent video tutorials of the build, tips and techniques and an abundance of pictures for you to study. If the instructions are printed in A3 size then they will be to a 1:1 scale which is another nice touch.
All in all I think Artesania Latina have done this kit proud and in my opinion they have put a lot of thought in its contents. The way it has all been put together is probably one of the best I’ve seen.
Am looking forward to getting this one going and will of course be producing a build diary as we progress. The build diary will be done as an OOB build with no modifications. The build will be starting very soon.
This is a kit that I would highly recommend, especially as its very reasonably priced.

Alan
