This query is directed to Mr T...

Issue 78 has an amendment relating to the orientation of the Crosstree under the fighting top.
Fortunately, I have not yet glued the crosstree in place as I note that on the Masts and Bowsprit assembly plan, the orientation remains as per issue 78 and not as amended by the revision issued with 117.

However, if I were to follow the amendment, the crosstree will be orientated across the ship...Confused

I have drilled all the fighting tops now, in accordance with issue 112.

Please clarify.

Kind regards
JohnP

BigGrin Hi John the cross trees are turned 90deg so that there is enough room for the shrouds to go through so just go with the amendment. Hope this helps rgd Martyn

Hi John

Martyn is correct here. The hole in the base of the fighting top should run port to starboard and the holes for the masts in the crosstrees should run bow to stern. Here is a couple of pics of my fighting top. Follow the instructions as per the amendment. Hope this helps...Cool Cool

Alan

Thanks Martyn and Alan

Oh bother...I've gone and drilled all the holes now, so they are in the wrong orientation...Blink No worries I'll re-drill and plug the redundant ones...Cool

Many thanks for your help...BigGrin

Hi John, I had the same problem, however if you have glued using PVA then you can apply hot water with a small brush to the joins and gently remove the handrail. Once removed and a little clean up it can be refitted with the correct orientation.... Not difficult to do... Cool Cool

Hi Alan

I have not yet glued the crosstree on, (luckily), but I have drilled all the holes in the top rim as per the drilling plan from issue 112 - which has not been amended. So now, by turning the fighting top 90deg., all the holes are misaligned. I have now plugged all the holes with wood putty...a nice Jarrah colour!...Cool

When dry, I will sand smooth and then re-drill all the holes as required by the revision...BigGrin

Thanks for the pics Alan, a picture tells a thousand words...Cool

Regards
