Hi, Complete newbie here A friend of mine told me about this collection and after jumping onto the home page and checking it out I just had to give it a go my little boy is star wars crazy so I know he'll love it when it's built by that time it's done he should be old enough to appreciate it. He's only 8 BTW so it will be me who will be attempting to build it, with his help as much as posible So there you go I have absolutely no experience what's so ever in building anything never mind a robot! But hey I'm taking the plunge and having a go the things we do for our kids eh Anyway I've only placed my order today so it will be a bit before I post again which will give me time to figure out how to post a pic on here Byeeeeeee May.

Welcome to the forum May. I'm sure you won't have any issues build the R2 as long as you follow the instructions carefully. If you're unsure of anything just ask Enjoy the build

Hope you have some terrific fun building this one. I do not think you will have any issues as this has proved not only a popular kit but in turn has generated a mass of build diaries so it will be like building along with your very own modelling club all in the surroundings of your own home Hope it all goes well Happy Modelling

Hi May, you shouldn't need much more than a screw driver with this model, maybe a little super glue and some masking tape to hold things in place from time to time. Mark Regards Markwarren (Mark) Admin

Hi, Thanks Mark, I think these gifts are covered with the premium collection offer, underneath this on the sign up form was another option for special issues at £10.99 each, I used to collect the baking magazines that Deagostini did and in that collection they did special Christmas and Easter issues that weren't part of the original collection I was just wondering what the extra issues for this build entailed - sorry for the confusion May. Sorry May, I misunderstood These will be separate issues sent to you from time to time, that a standard subscriber will not receive. Similar to you baking magazines. Mark Regards Markwarren (Mark) Admin

Hi, Our household has gone part work mad at the moment, my daughter has her My Little Pony my eldest son has his Assassins Creed my youngest has his R2 and the biggest kid of them all my hubby wants me to sign him up for the DeLorean! He's not due back from tour until August so he'll have a few copies when he does! Anyway the first delivery of issues 1 and 2 for this collection has arrived much to Charlie's delight, (he's been counting the day bless him!) so last night we sat down watched the video build on youtube, read the official diary had a nosey as some others and made a start. The instructions were excellent and easy to follow (even for me!) although I did have one mishap I put way to much super glue on the arm piston which squirted out all over the place and made a mess but I remembered that nail polish remover gets rid of super glue stains so I managed to clean it up a lesion learnt! Well that's it until next month Byeeeeeee MFG attached the following image(s):
