I'm writing this in a very annoyed mood My fourth delivery (well, 6th if you count the mistakes). I was supposed to get issues 13-16 (yes, very far behind where it should be. I'm ticked off about that. In general DeAgostini/Jacklin is turning me into a kid who lost his favourite toy. I opened the box which LUCKILY contained my toolkit (YAY!). With it was my 4 issues. 13, 15, 17, 18. Now I have to call them to send the others my way, AGAIN. I'm really getting annoyed by their continued bad service delivery. I should get a discount for time spent on the phone. Does anyone know how they can not count straight? I mean, I'd get it if they didn't have those issues and at least sent a note explaining. But this is just people packaging products, not really caring what they are doing. I'm on the point of just cancelling it and getting it from CNA. Has anyone else been having these hassles time after time with the subscription? Yours, Angry shipmate

Sorry to hear of your problems with deliveries. We do suffer in the UK but they usually come through in the end if a week or two late. I now find that they are sending the batches out by calendar month so that there is no fear of getting 2 bills in one month. This is going to elongate the project significantly compared to those bought from the news agent. It is all very frustrating as I usually get the 4 issues built within a week or so. Then have to wait for the next batch, so most of us have an "in between" model to keep us out of mischief. I for one shall not be subscribing to another parts issue even if I have to speak to the bank manager to buy the next kit outright. In fact I think my next will be a scratch build, then there will be no worries about delivery, initial cost, or quality of parts etc. Of course all this gives me time to read Wilbur Smith and learn a bit more about S.A. Hope your problems will be resolved soon. Laury

What exactly is scratch building a ship like this? Does it mean, you buy sheets of wood, and cut out EVERYTHING yourself from diagrams?
And if so, where can I get diagrams for an easy one?

I have to date not had any problem with issues. My problem has been with issue 14, part 30 30a and 30b were supplied instead of part 31. I phone CS who promised to send me a replacement copy of issue 14 that arrived on Thursday and hurray I received the same parts again. When I phone CS to complain they told me there has been a problem issue 14 and will resend, making sure part 31 is included. Lets hope that in 2 weeks the correct part arrives.

Atholm - If I recall rightly there was a general packing error across issues 14 and 15, where I think you'll find your missing part from 14 is in 15, and that the parts which should not have been within 14 are for use in 15 if that makes sense, basically if you have issues 14 and 15 then all should be well.

Hi Gan-Javi. If you want I can sent you copy’s of a fishing trawler, the “MFV Lounch Out”. At this moment I copy it from A1 to A4 paper. But I will copy it from A1 format to a PDF format on a later stage. Do remember al the parts you need is build by hand. I normally build my ship models from plans, do the cutting by hand haha. Victory is my first kit build, you do save time with this build because every thing is already cut. Have a great weekend. Albatross, build in 1982 from plans. Hms Bounty, build in 1987 from plans. Duyfken, build in 1991 from plans Oosterland, build in 1998 from plans 2010 Hms Victory kit from Deagostini
In the meantime. 2011 Building MFV 1963 fishing trawler from plan.

Hi Tomick
I assumed that was the situation, however when I received the next batch of mags which included issue 15 the parts as listed in issue 15 were supplied.

Hi Trev
When I phone CS regarding the incorrect parts on 24/2/11 I was told they are aware of the problem and will resend issue 14 with part 31. I was not told that they were out of stock. The problem is the I have to wait about 2 weeks for the delivery to find out if the problem is solved.
