Hi all just a small update on the Wasa I have started making the masts the plans show two blocks to lift the yards but the real ship had pulleys built into the masts so I have made the wooden blocks to house the pulley and used some tinfoil to look like the iron bands. The upper mast has a fid fitted the fid is a piece of round wood which is passed through the bottom of the mast to hold it up but when they wanted to lower the mast it was knocked out and they could lower it through the fighting top all the upper masts are fitted with them Next job rigging the shrouds . The first job is to rig the back stays to the formast as these are behind the shrouds. Once done its on to rigging the shrouds I am going to do one mast at a time as to brake up the ratlines. As you can see the lower shrouds are finished and the shear poll is in place ready for the futtock shrouds to be attached Cheers for looking rgd Martyn File Attachment(s): Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ?
