Hey guys/and gals. I just subscribed to the R2 build magazine last night and looking forward to this little project. I'm a member of the R2 builders club that is building life size droids and figured this was a good project to tinker with while waiting on part runs from the club (which can take some time) So figured I would go ahead and start a build log. Will post pictures of the build as I get them in. Can't wait to start this project.

Thanks guys! From the looks of the other builds this will be a top notch model/rc. If I enjoy this build I will probably be adding the millennium falcon to my order in the next month or two. On a side note does anyone know if the x-wing and Star Wars helmet collections will be offered in the states? Those are two others I would love to get my hands on.

Just got my first shipment in today! Really wasn't expecting it until next week. So I'm excited about how fast the shipment was here. Unfortunately I'm at work and won't be able to start building it just yet. But soon I will be ripping open the packs and start inspecting the parts and test fitting them.

Hi Kental, Good to see another R2 diary underway. Congrats on starting your diary and your "Blue medal" Pics will show on the forum up to 660 pixels width with no problem. Sometimes you may need to refresh the page a couple of times for all the images to show, but they will be there. Look forward to seeing how your build develops with time. Good Luck Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Got a chance to work on R2 tonight! Love the ease of the beginning stage of the build. It really does ease you into building R2. Kental attached the following image(s):

And finally issue Four...With a four week wait until the next shipment comes in I guess I will work on the wood frame for my life size R7 and a few 1/48 scale star wars models while I wait. But I do love how bright the LED's are in these photos. The photos do not do them justice. They are so much brighter in real life. Kental attached the following image(s):

And this is a shot of the workbench I built just for this R2 build. It is going to be my model building workbench. *Edit* Don't know why the image is showing up side ways it views the correct way on my computer. Kental attached the following image(s):

It wasn't difficult to build the workbench. It's made from 2x4 lumber and 1/4 inch plywood. All the 2x4's are glued and screwed together with the plywood glued down for a nice flat work surface. If you look at the end of the table top you will see how the 2x4's are almost like a butcher block for a very sturdy table. The screws and glue make it completely solid. There is no flex or movement what so ever from this table.
