Hi, Yes I'm happy with the decision, I have literally no experience what's so ever so it's as you say Geoff this build a bit to expensive to be playing around with it especially with my zero knowledge on the subject. May.

Hi, Well look what arrived this morning my first delivery of issues 1 and 2. I wasn't actually expecting this until next week so it was a nice surprise to say the least. I know a lot of you chaps are saving the parts to build in bulk but these bite sized chunks suit me just fine so I'm building as I get them. The thing that surprised me the most was the sheer size of it, not being a modeller the 1:8 scale meant nothing to me so to actually see the full scale image in the supplement that come with the magazine was really nice As Geoff pointed out earlier, the colour is perhaps a little darker than I was expecting when compared to the adverts etc, but that suits me fine I prefer this darker shade. The instructions seem nice and clear so even I could follow them There is one thing to say though which is the screwdriver that was supplied wasn't magnetic, I don't know if that is how it's supposed to be but I had a hard time picking up those tiny screws that come with issue 1. In the end I gave up and used the screwdriver that came with the R2-D2 build instead, it was a bit big for these screws but I got there in the end. Anyway here's some pics and thanks for dropping by May. MFG attached the following image(s):

Good to see you starting this one. Screwdriver (test and issue 1 so i have 2) are not magnetic but you can make them so if you have a magnet available. Just stroke the screwdriver blade across the magnet a few times and that will work. Happy building. Happy Modelling

Hi, Thank you chaps, Yes it was nice to get going with it, although I did have a bit of a wobble, in the official diary the logo on the oil cap is orientated differently to mine but as there is a notch on the underside so it can only go one way I'm guessing that the parts have been altered? Anyway I'm already looking forward to the next delivery but in the meantime the next instalment of R2-D2 is due soon May.

May They have changed the direction of the oil filler cap since the test pieces from last year. Hoping to get my "proper"subscription parts soon so that i can correct a couple of things that need to be changed as a result of using the old parts. Happy Modelling

Hi, Yes it was actually your diary Tony that gave me the answer because I knew that your are using test parts so it all made sense in the end With a bit of luck your subscription delivery should be with you soon, as far as I can tell it's only the oil cap that has changed in issues 1+2 May.

There's a post somewhere here that says the main bonnet panel has been altered too - the fixing points/posts have been moved so the test bonnet won't be any use on the actual kit.

Indeed there are some major fixing point changes to the bonnet with some being removed, some added and some moved. Was also advised that its had some additional paint coats to thevtest version so the colour should be a lot better than the test fersion. Happy Modelling

I've got the test parts and the new ones but I can't see any difference in the paint . I opened up both packs and the inner fixings are indeed very different.

Hi, Interesting, it makes you wonder why they changed it as the kit is said to be a exact replica of the real car so surly the fittings would match in appearance? Anyway I'm sure the changes are for the better May.
