Good morning from 'The Dockyard'. This part of my U230 u-boat log i'm building the 'panelling' that sits above the Junior Rate Mess & Galley representing the cut-away section of the top of the saddle tank. I wanted to continue this theme as there is part-works supplied photo-etched brass panelling for the Control Room and Engine Room saddle tank cut-aways. I made the panelling from plastic sheet and strip. The attached photo shows the base of the panelling cut to size. I used 0.25mm thick plastic sheet. This photo shows the making of the panelling border using 1.0mm x 0.5mm strip. I used bulldog clips to hold it in the correct position while I ran a bead of superglue along it's edge.
