Alan that is looking very nice indeed. Nothing wrong in taking your time and thinking out each stage as it can save your hours later on.

Hope it continues well for you.

Started planking the lower hull. I was going to say so far so good but I just noticed from the photo's that I have a gap in the last plank of the bow.
I'll put that right before I go any further as it will save me a lot of grief when I start finishing the hull. Mad

That is coming on well.

Those stern bends look difficult but have gone down very well.

Thanks Tony.

I started the bends with trepidation but by soaking the wood and using my electric plank bender along with the plank bending tool that was in the free toolkit, it turned out easier than I expected. Done 4 planks each side up to now and only snapped 2.

Alan your making great progress, planking is nice and even.

Yo may find it quicker to form your stern bends using the kettle method. hold your strip over the steam from a boiling kettle and lightly bend into shape while in the steam. works a treat.

Thanks for all your comments.

Thanks for the tip Jase, I'll give it a go. I don't have a gas kettle but a pan with a metal funnel over it should serve the same.

Lining gun ports. Might be a while (photo 1).

Finished the starboard side (photo 2).

Up to here with port side (photo 3).

Got no thumbnail left as I've sanded it right down!

That looks a very involved part of the build but for every port completed that is one less to do.

Its all looking really good.
