Thanks for looking in and your comments guys the Gulnara was designed to be capable of running under power or from sail equally well and even had the means to feather the paddles to prevent drag when sailing on wind power only. I really do like the lines of this little ship that served the Sardic navy for 30 odd years before becoming part of the Italian fleet when Sardinia became part of Italy. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All Started the second planking in 5 x 1mm mahogany strip, begining with the transom first then for the second planking we start on the lower hull and work upwards as each section is completed. My aim here was to do the planking with a minimal amount of stealers by using tapering of the planks. Im quite pleased to say one small fillet at the bow to get the plank to curve upward was all that was needed and four fillets on the rudder post so not a bad result but took some time to complete due to working out plank runs as I laid them. The off cuts from the rudder post planks were used to line the backs of the wheel wells and at the same time to drill out the holes for the paddle wheel axle. More soon.
