Experts warn that Saturday, April 15th could mark the beginning of a series of events that has a tragic, history making outcome — World War 3. This weekend may be the closest the world will come to global war since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1963. 200 foreign journalists currently covering North Korea's "Day of the Sun" celebration were warned to expect a "big and important event" Saturday.

The problem we have here is any resolution must be obtained with the Koreans and China in a way that prevents them loosing face but at the same time we have an opposition to both with an equally stubborn resolve. Not the best scenario for world peace right now. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

This is really down to China now. clearly Trump is an idiot of epic proportions, what is not clear is how much influence China really has and what deals are being done with the North Koreans to ease the situation. This is being a little over egged perhaps as clearly North Korea would collapse in a hot war with the US, which is Chinas biggest concern for a couple of reasons. but North Korea will know this and what they are likely fishing for is easing of the political noose around the country by background negotiation driven by the public saber rattling, they have done this before. In many ways the simplistic political posturing of the North Koreans is not the issue, the unpredictable idiot running the USA is the real unknown hear and for me thats the worry he dose not have the statesmanship to handle this with anything other than military force. really scary “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Not a day goes by without some form of disaster or potential disaster being reported in the news. Its been the same ever since i was young with reports that one country or other will end the world. Gets to the point that its not even worth worrying about - what will be will be. For me i am going to sit myself down today and press on with my model build as been delayed due to family illness, get myself a nice cup of tea and enjoy the rest of this extended weekend Happy Modelling
BUILDING: Hachette Spitfire Mk 1A, Constructo Mayflower SUBSCRIPTION COMPLETE (Awaiting building): USS Constitution, Sovereign of the Seas, 1:200 Bismarck (Hachette) COMPLETED: Porsche 911, E-Type Jaguar, Lam Countach

In this instance disaster is not what it is as the word means a sudden accident or a natural catastrophe that causes great damage or loss of life. - there is nothing accidental about North Korea's plan to test a nuke or the result being a natural catastrophe.
But your right, not a lot we can do about it when the loons are playing with annihilation...

I suspect Xi has told Trump what will happen if he backs Un into a corner.I think it is just a huge waste of resources steaming the battle fleet to the Korean peninsula. Trump is looking to distract everyone as much as he can from the Russia probe, but I highly doubt anything will come from this.China would never tolerate N Korea risking a war with US and frankly without China North Korea would starve.
CHina also has lots of reasons to keep the US battle fleet out of the Pacific so it will do everything necessary to get the US out of there.
