Hi, Issue 4 Here I had to install the spokes, I'm not going top lie to you I had a bit of an nightmare The first row went on without to much fuss once I got the hang of it, the problems started with the second row. Each time I tried to install a spoke the one underneath it "popped out" I thought it might be the tape I was using as I'd had it for a while so I went out and brought a new roll - there was an improvement but they were still coming loose every so often and of course each time I tried to replace one two more came out Amongst all this was the 20min or so carpet search for the spoke that sprang out of my tweezers - I got it though In the end I did away with the tape and glued them into place instead which made my life 100% easier Well that's it for this delivery - I'm of for a sit down thanks for dropping by May. Well done May, you certainly entertain me, when I read your post. Sounded like a nightmare, but I'm glad you got it sorted. Still with making your own wheels you could call them Bespoke ones. Regards May Regards Markwarren (Mark) Admin

Hi, In my earlier post I forgot to credit Tony for a piece of advise he gives in his diary - post #41 which helped me out a lot as up to then my spokes didn't fit or look right http://forum.model-space...sts&t=22479&p=3
Where he says (quote) PICTURE 9 “PROCEED WITH CARE” Picture 6 on page 13 of the build instructions appears to show the spoke end pointing towards the right when the correct method (as shown by the other pictures is to have the first row of spokes with the end pointing left. *********** After reading that they looked and fit much better, I still had fun 'n' games as noted earlier but they looked better Thanks May.

May Really glad you found my earlier post of some use. I think if i continue with my build i will be learning from you and the other builders as my account is in turmoil. The excellent forum chaps are trying to sort it for me but from what i can see i now have 3 jaguar accounts with a potential further issue 1 and 2 on the way Been advised with Easter it will be tuesday before we get further into sorting it but finding the delay to my build a bit frustrating. Glad you managed to get your wheel sorted. One thing i found was that the tweezers in my weak fingers were a bit to springy to hold closed (not a fault with the tweezers but a fault of mine having spent 35 years at a computer keyboard). You should find as you progress this bit of the build will get easier (you have another 4 to make including the spare) but you have to admit this makes the wheel look so realistic and i cannot think any way they could have done this differntly without compromising the accuracy of this part of the build. Hope it all continues well for you. Happy Modelling
BUILDING: Hachette Spitfire Mk 1A, Constructo Mayflower SUBSCRIPTION COMPLETE (Awaiting building): USS Constitution, Sovereign of the Seas, 1:200 Bismarck (Hachette) COMPLETED: Porsche 911, E-Type Jaguar, Lam Countach

That's quite a drama you had with the spokes, they do look fiddly to do. Your perseverance certainly paid off, just another 3 to go

May and Tony Many thanks for pointing out which way the spokes should fit into the rim. I'm hoping it'll help me come in at under three hours when I do mine. Then again, it might well take me longer. I think you deserve a medal for perseverance. Happy modelling

Hi, Thank you Tony Well you sound as though you are having your own ordeal, 3 accounts! I'm sure the CS team will get it sorted out for you. I used to collect Deagostini's baking collection and they always sorted out any problems I had - but I know how frustrating it can be you tend to get that why me feeling. I didn't like the tweezers either so I used (warning girly comment coming up ) a fine pair of eyebrow tweezers which held the spokes a lot better. Your right about getting in the hang of things, I know I cheated a bit by using glue but I was actually quite proud that I finished this task and I gain more confidence as I went along. I hope you get sorted soon, I look forward to seeing you next diary update May.

I couldn't agree more - I'm thinking a nice baby pink one I'm sure you will finish this task in a far lesser time than 3 hours and without glue May.

Hi, Oh dear it seems that I have built my wheel wrong after reading this post http://forum.model-space...sts&t=22999&p=3
it seems that the spokes should cross over three and not the two that mine do as I glued mine it will have to stay as it is but it will teach me to pay closer attention to the instructions - another lesson learnt May.

I've done the same May, bit annoying but at least it's the spare wheel and not immediately visible so no one will notice Building: Deagostini R2D2, Eaglemoss Delorean, Deagostini E-Type

Does this not just highlight how important all these build threads are?
OK, we 'need' a few people to get it wrong, so that everyone else benefits. It will make the overall experience that much better, and more rewarding for everyone.
Keep it coming.
Roy.

Hi, Roy I'm so sorry I've only just read your post Yes I'm finding that the diaries of other members here on this forum are an important part of the builds I'm involved in, as I'm finding that the instructions are always as clear as perhaps they could be. May.

Hi, My third delivery arrived today containing issues #5, #6, #7 and #8 as well as a free binder. Issue 5 So learning from my mistake with the spokes in issue 4, this time I played closer attention to the pics in the instructions. The 'A' spokes went in simply enough but I did have a battle with the 'B' spokes but I won in the end The keen eyed amongst you will notice in the 3rd pic below that one of the 'A' spokes is missing, I was lucky to find the spoke I dropped last time, but this time around despite a search involving the whole family it appears to have vanished - well I guess there's nothing I can do but be more careful next time...... Apart from that everything went ok really May. MFG attached the following image(s):

Hi, Issue 6 A much less stressful issue in this one we just install the handle to the door, a simple enough task even for me As you can see by the terrible photo below I had a 'mare' getting a good shot, my phone seemed to hate the bright sun and the impressive high polish combination, believe it or not this was the best photo out of the 23 I took Never mind eh...... May. MFG attached the following image(s):
