Issue 4

Here I had to install the spokes, I'm not going top lie to you I had a bit of an nightmare

The first row went on without to much fuss once I got the hang of it, the problems started with the second row. Each time I tried to install a spoke the one underneath it "popped out" I thought it might be the tape I was using as I'd had it for a while so I went out and brought a new roll - there was an improvement but they were still coming loose every so often and of course each time I tried to replace one two more came out

Amongst all this was the 20min or so carpet search for the spoke that sprang out of my tweezers - I got it though

In the end I did away with the tape and glued them into place instead which made my life 100% easier

Well that's it for this delivery - I'm of for a sit down

Really glad you found my earlier post of some use.

I think if i continue with my build i will be learning from you and the other builders as my account is in turmoil.

The excellent forum chaps are trying to sort it for me but from what i can see i now have 3 jaguar accounts with a potential further issue 1 and 2 on the way

Been advised with Easter it will be tuesday before we get further into sorting it but finding the delay to my build a bit frustrating.

Glad you managed to get your wheel sorted. One thing i found was that the tweezers in my weak fingers were a bit to springy to hold closed (not a fault with the tweezers but a fault of mine having spent 35 years at a computer keyboard).

You should find as you progress this bit of the build will get easier (you have another 4 to make including the spare) but you have to admit this makes the wheel look so realistic and i cannot think any way they could have done this differntly without compromising the accuracy of this part of the build.

That's quite a drama you had with the spokes, they do look fiddly to do.

Well you sound as though you are having your own ordeal, 3 accounts! I'm sure the CS team will get it sorted out for you. I used to collect Deagostini's baking collection and they always sorted out any problems I had - but I know how frustrating it can be you tend to get that why me feeling.

I didn't like the tweezers either so I used (warning girly comment coming up ) a fine pair of eyebrow tweezers which held the spokes a lot better.

Your right about getting in the hang of things, I know I cheated a bit by using glue but I was actually quite proud that I finished this task and I gain more confidence as I went along.

I've done the same May, bit annoying but at least it's the spare wheel and not immediately visible so no one will notice

Does this not just highlight how important all these build threads are?

OK, we 'need' a few people to get it wrong, so that everyone else benefits.
It will make the overall experience that much better, and more rewarding for everyone.

My third delivery arrived today containing issues #5, #6, #7 and #8 as well as a free binder.

Issue 5

So learning from my mistake with the spokes in issue 4, this time I played closer attention to the pics in the instructions. The 'A' spokes went in simply enough but I did have a battle with the 'B' spokes but I won in the end

The keen eyed amongst you will notice in the 3rd pic below that one of the 'A' spokes is missing, I was lucky to find the spoke I dropped last time, but this time around despite a search involving the whole family it appears to have vanished - well I guess there's nothing I can do but be more careful next time......

Apart from that everything went ok really
