I have come across the HMS Victory from AL from another seller and was wondering the differences between getting the AL kit from Deagostini and getting it from another seller. In reading other posts on the internet and on here, I understand the directions are far better but is the wood and other parts going to be the same?? Is the Deagostini a repackaged AL kit or am I missing something.

Thanks in advance.

The instructions of the AL kit are dreadful, totally unsuitable for the novice as they assume the builder has a fair degree of model ship construction techniques.

The AL kit does not have a full compliment of ships boats or the option to have a gun-deck cut-away with crew figures and guns, or the option to buy a hull copper tile kit let alone instruction of how to apply.

The DeAgostini kit is based on the original AL design which is where it ends. It has many improvements in terms of accuracy content, the wood content is similar.

It's a bit like chalk and cheese and the DeAgostini version being the far better choice if only for it's far superior instructions content which also makes this kit an option for the novice to undertake. The additional content simply makes it the one to go for.
