Leave well alone until you see what's happening with glazing and gallery mouldings

Hi benny! Cool

You've been busy looks OK! I must say don't worry about the gallery mouldings we only have issue 49 in the newsagents and still need 71 issues to complete the ship.

On another point "THE UPPER GUN DECK PORTS" have you seen Tomick diary looks like some guns are set pointing down to get them to fit more centrally in the port. If Tomick's reading this Sorry Mate, but They Do! And when the dummy cannons are fitted in the centre of the ports you might just get away with it. So benny if your cannons sit to high try pointing the barrel down and see if you too can get away with it, this would save a lot of work.

Now how did I know you were itching to say so, if anything a tad on the high side but not angled down to make them fit, the barrels are set close to horizontal in relation to how the ship is sat and will be individually fined tuned before the deck goes in above.

Preventing them from being knocked about whilst the rest of the build goes on is another matter Crying

a quick update the bow deck is planked and i have cut the wales around the ports..you notice i have cut away the gunport frames as i shaped the 2nd planking around the ports cause it didnt really work trying to get a recess,i found 12x12mm square metal tubing which a friend of mine is cutting into 2 mm strips which i will set back into the ports to form a recess i have tested a couple af them and they work a treat.

hi all i had a problem with the cannons being to high in the ports they were touching the tops so i had to raise the ports by 2.5mm,and it worked great the wales hide any repair on the outside and the second planking did the same on the inside..i placed the cannons on the deck and as you can see the guns are now centre to the ports

Hi benny! Cool

Well you've managed to sort your port problem, I'm glad to see! and you wouldn't know it was ever a problem. I think other's will follow your work to correct the low ports as you have shown them the way.

Nice Work! ThumpUp

hi all i have painted a section today to see what the metal 12x12mm recesses look like on the ports, and i am happy with the results,i will paint them properly and a bit of filler is needed when we are at that stage and the final paint job will be matt varnished to seal it
