Hi,

Now that such a shame - its a classic car and I would have been interested in it but sadly the body colour puts me right off IMO sports cars and white just don't mix well Sad

The colour may not work for you but it clearly worked for Porche as it was a classic colour of this type..

This is going to be a great kit to build. A friend of mine has one, going to have to give him a nod on this one.

The Citroen will be for me, but I'd like this one too if it was next year or later.

Just too many at one time though as I'm already in with the E Type, DeLorean and Shelby.

Hi,

It was just my opinion Tomick - nothing more,

I know that it is generally seen in this colour scheme or with blue trim, I might be wrong but I think I once saw one with yellow trim? but for me white is a horrible colour for a 911 - but hey you can't please em all right BigGrin

White is not my favourite of any Supercar. You could always consider a re-paint in your preferred colour and create copy decals

Quick question if I may...I had the same thought about changing the colour of the E-Type and after a bit of research I have the general idea of how to do that but how would I go about copying the decals? is there a guide in an earlier post or website you could direct me to?

Thanks

May.

A decent printer is the first thing you need, followed by a method of scanning in the original if you are looking to keep the same shape but colour the result differently.

And then some decal film onto which to print. White or clear they supply and 2 versions for inkjet or laser printers.

As printers on the whole do not print white any decal that has a white element too it needs the white film.

If you are designing or modifying then a computer paint package is also needed

Hobbies do single sheets of the film but lots of other places do as well

Lots of videos here

Happy Modelling

BigGrin Hi May

Just a word of caution before you start stripping your Jaguar.

To get a decent finish on any model car is very much like spraying a real car you can use rattle cans or use an airbrush to achieve this but you will also need a dust free area to get a good finish.

It might be a good idea to buy a cheap plastic car kit and practice on that to see how you get on before touching the jag.

To give an example of what can be achieved with care and experience gained over the years I have been modeling and dont get me wrong I have had some paint nightmares over the years too, I have included a couple of pictures below of my 1/12 MFH Cobra as an example paint finish.

Regards

Hi,

First of all wow... what a beautiful and stunning model ThumpUp

I had an idea of picking up some toy metal cars if I see any in the charity shops (or pinch one of my sons!) I thought they'd make a good base to practise stripping the paint and having a play with making my own decals and of course if I mess it up - which I most likely will BigGrin it won't matter

This will be a far better Porsche than the old Pocher offering, looking forward to seeing it.

There's a white Ferrari parking outside of my office building almost every day and it's one of the most beautiful and sublime things I've ever seen. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If it's the aggressive stance of a sports car then the colour will reinforce that pedigree. But if it's beauty there's nothing like white IMO...

The Porsche... I might build it, especially since they are not big cars - otherwise, I don't think I have space for another 1/8 car... 1/12 is my favourite scale at the moment.

Happy building :-)

I rather like it in white, especially with the red wheels and matching decals on the side, looks cool. Cool ThumpUp
