 Hi Nightwisher This is the first Krick kit I have ever built and must say the wood and parts provided are of excellent quality, the Mahogany planking provided for the second planking has square cut edges that aid in the jointing unlike the sometimes ragged edges we can get on some kits that need so much rectification to get a good edge. Hi All The main hull has now been second planked just the keel and prow to finish off before more sanding comes into play. Instead of planking the bulwarks and then cutting out the door and scupper apertures I fixed them in place 1st then planked around them lining the edges with 1mm strip. The holes for the paddle wheel cover supports were cleared and the supports dry fitted for now. More soon. Nice job on the planking, she looks very smooth. The shape of the hull is different giving thee plank flow a nice shape. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Hi All All the outer hull planking along the prow and keel has been finished along with the stern post. Quite a bit of sanding ahead to get her nice and smooth and will have to make up the ships stand thats included with the kit as the keel will not fit onto my dry dock now. More soon. Hi All The hull has now been sanded smooth and a couple of coats of home made sanding sealer applied [ talc powder added to dope] to raise the grain it will need another light sanding and it will then be ready for a clear coat.
