Thanks for all the comments on the sails I have taken some pics of the way I have done the furled sails as it may help other ship builders out there I am just off to work so will post them later on tonight when I get back See you later rgd Martyn Building ? Hi all as promised some pics of the sails The first job is to rig the yards with the sail and blocks. Then fit the yards to the mast with the lifts and parrels so you have a steady yard to work on Next tie the bunt and clewlines to the bottom of the sail, I tend to stitch the lines to the hem Once fitted cut the lines over length and pass them through the relevant blocks and down to the bitts . Pass the lines through the bitts and hold them with a small clamp Next job pull the sail up a bit at a time on both sides until you get to the height you like. To keep the lines tight pass the lines over the side of the ship and clamp I then loop a thin line round the top of the yard to hold them in place. When happy lock the lines of with the belay pins Once done arranged the sail to how you like it but don't worry about how wrinkled it looks as you can straighten them out Next job stand back and admire your handy work Hope this helps rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Hi all a bit more of a update on the Wasa I have been a little busy doing the rigging and now have finished the bowsprit yards and boy what a fiddley thing that was, lots of ropes going in all directions but now complete apart from the flag Next up the mizzenmast yards and lifts it was a lot more easier than the bow to do The upper yards will have to wait until I order some more 0.25 line as I have run out I don't think Mr Corel had considered people rigging the sails but hayho still it will give my eyes a chance to get uncrossed lol Thanks for following rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ?
