has anyone else had a survey email off eaglemoss, looks like they are planning to do a series of models off battlestar galactica, they mention the old series from 1978, aand the remake from 2004, might be interesting if it goes ahead. BigGrin

Not had anything from them myself.

Sounds interesting. Not sure there were that many different vehicles in the series? I remember the colonial viper and the cylon raider which might make up as large detailed models quite nicely.

Be interesting to see what direction this one takes.
Happy Modelling

Could be good but it smacks a bit of 'Jumping on the DeAg Star Wars bandwagon'.

Is there a better franchise?
How about a 36" Star Trek Enterprise of the same kind of build quality and interior detail as the DeAg Falcon?

Now THAT really would be something!

I agree Battlestar Galactica would be good, but the galactic herself is not that exciting visually, don't think it would have the draw that the falcon does

but if they did a Cylon version of Robi Drool Drool Drool Drool Drool

lets hop they do a classic and new viperLove Love Love

Hope that there is something in this, but at the same time am a little worried.

The Galactica from either classic or new versions would be huge at any scale to make it worthwhile from a detail point of view. The Cylon Base Stars more so. The new base stars are a lot less detailed at a given scale than the classic ones.

The obvious choice is then the fighters, Viper and Cylon raider. Personally I'd prefer a decent size classic Viper, but same scale new Viper variants would also be interesting. I believe they did a black, sort of square engine, 'stealth' version (Blackbird?)

But if it is for a single version, there will be people who don't like it no matter which version you choose.

So maybe a die-cast collection of the vehicles used in both versions. classic and new standard vipers, new 'alternate' vipers, land vehicles, battlestars, and base stars all in one collection - possibly even with main character figures.

If they wanted to do a series and go against the DeAgostini SW licence, maybe take the BBCTV "Doctor Who" licence. Instead of R2, "Build your own 1/4 scale Dalek" (again problems of variant. Classic TV, Classic Movie, special Weapons, New copper-coloured, or new Who New 'Palitoy' Paradigm?), "Build Bessie" Jon Pertwee's classic yellow roadster, or "Build K-9" spring to mind.
