Considering you were apprehensive about weathering, you've done an excellent job, and it's no marathon to finish it.

Great work RJ. I am getting ready to start my build after receiving my first month yesterday. I too was looking at using the Arduino to provide more lighting control, ramp control, etc. Do you have any more to tell about that part of your project?

You bet I am starting a diary. I've already learned so much here from everyone...and I hope to contribute something back during my build. Now I just need a nice topic title. Mmmmmm.

A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away , I started building this 'heap of junk'....

but many distractions later, including little models (1/72 and 1/48 aircraft) , DeAg's R2-D2, buying a 3D Printer & playing with it :) , changing job, falling off my bicycle and breaking wrist and hip its been fun times.

The Correllian Shipyard has been reopened and the various departments are back working..

So this project went from and out of the box build , to a few additions in the hold / corridor areas, lets add some warning lights... now lets throw away the elctronics board and go Arduino Nano + BLE , learn XCode and create a bespoke personal app for mac and ios (will use blynk or alike to prototype functions)

1st Order has been to design and print a set of exhaust vents - not 100% accurate but much better than the kit supplied version.
