Here is a listing on ebay for the dispenser. 191769808251 They are good because if you ever use all the wax you can reload them. I have just put black wax into one that i melted down from a block and used a tealight foil holder as the mold. Happy Modelling

Thanks guys for your help!! Much appreciated!
Made some decisions:
1. Stayed with the 3mm blocks as there are no 2mm double-blocks, which i want to use at the hull side of the tackles, as in the original.
2. Get rid of the additional hooks and brass rings to make the tackles shorter.
3. Use 1mm eyebolts at the gun and 2mm eyebolts at the hull.
4. Change the attaching location of both the tackles and breaching ropes at the hull - used the instructions of the Victory Cross-Section build as guidance.
5. Attached additional eyebolt and brass ring at the gun for a slightly different route of the breaching ropes.

Hi Walter, I like what you have done and to me looks a lot better than the brass wire around the blocks. I believe that the overall appearance is most important and that you are happy with the end result. Alec Built: Bluenose, Arab Dhow, HMS Bounty, Hummer H1, D51, Spitfire,E type Jaguar.

Fantastic rope work with the cannons Walter, it looks very convincing and will look quite spectacular when all the other cannons are done

Looks great Walter, your time, effort and patience has really paid off....  .. I find beeswax is the best method of calming down furry thread but it also has to be applied correctly. Run the thread through the wax a couple of times, then run the thread between your thumb and finger a few times. The heat from your thumb and finger warms up the wax. Regards Alan

A small update regarding the guns. Didn`t have much spare time the last months.
I finished the 5 guns of the starboard-side.
The ropes look a little bit messy on purpose - as i imagine in a combat-situation they were not curled up as tidy as seen on today`s pictures.

Hi guys,
i would like to show you what i did during the last 2 months.
First i completed the second line of guns on the upper deck.
This time i made more tidy rope-coils, made some other little adjustments.
All in all i like this side better than the first. It`s learning by doing after all!
I have plans to do a "gun-tackling"-tutorial in the how-to-sections, as it took me hours and hours of research, sorting out which additional parts to order and just try-and-error during the build to complete this task in a way i`m pleased with.

So next step was the quarter deck. I wanted to make the deck of 4x1mm planks of tanganyika-wood and lay them in a 3-way butting pattern.
To make that possible i first built a deck out of cardcoard with all the deck openings already cut in:
Then i copied that deck onto a 1mm plastic card, which i glued onto the deck beams (corrected in their height) after painting it black: I always checked that the mast can be moved into the correct position!

Unfortunately i didn`t think of looking in my books before glueing the deck in!
When checking with the original plans i noticed that the deck openings (especially the aft companionway) is completely in the wrong place, when following the instructions.
So i had to improvise:Then finally i could start the planking -- which was pretty straight forward. I built a little jig to be able to fast-cut the Planks always in the same lenght (12cm - which would be 10m in real size) I built in a transverse plank at the forward end of the big opening - as i saw this on a Picture of the real shipAaaaand done!DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings,
