Hi All Made up the stand in the kit so she now has a resting place after cladding the keel. First off though the hull formers ears sticking out of the deck were removed and then filled then sanded back when the filler set. The mast holes were also drilled out to the correct 8mm so the masts fit as they should now. The next job is to plank the inner bulwark's with the same planks used on the hull but firstly the two doors and the scupper flaps hed to replicated on the inside of the bulwark's then the inner transom was planked. Its a straight forward planking job on the for the rest of the bulwarks. More soon. Hi All Made up the paddle boxes. First off the instructions say to Make a building jig internal size 48 mm and must hold each pre-cut ply side that has been pre-planked with the cut outs on the outside face. Once the sides were placed in the jig three removable spacer bars were added around the curved edges. The boxes were then planked cross ways with 1 x 3mm planks but just glued at the edges where they met the sides. Once dry they were lifted off the jigs the spacers removed and then a couple of coats of watered down glue coated on the inside. Once the glue was dry the boxes were sanded down to how they look now, still needs some sanding but they look good to me. Next its some major surgery on the bulwarks to shoe horn them in. The Tamiya paint pot is there to give an idea of size. More soon. I've only just caught up with this build Andy and I must say a beautiful job so far. I've never built a Krick kit but it looks amazing with high quality materials.

Andy Brilliant - that was just the bit i was interested in seeing and must say they look really good. Its an odd sounding manufacturer that might not stand out, but from what i am seeing they turn out some amazing kits. That is not to belittle the work you are putting in but from what i am seeing in your pictures all the wood parts are a decent quality which sadly even in some expensive kits leave a lot to be desired. Hope it all continues well for you. Happy Modelling

Thanks for looking in and your comments everyone much appreciated. Krick as a company have been going since 1956 and are on a par with Graupner in Germany for quality and attention to detail. They tend to consentrate on the R/C side including aircraft ,hellecopters, boats and a range of working Steam engines for there non static boats range. They also do a small range of static kits the Gulnara to me being the one that catches the eye. http://www.krickshop.de/?shop=krick_e
Providing the best materials possible at a reasonable price has always been Kricks way and there provision of mini plans for each stage and two full plans is another good way of showing a well thought out kit. Providing the best parts possible to someone with little skill in model building is a recipe for dissaster but providing them to a skilled modeler with the knowledge to build such ships gives an impression of making the construction look easy. Hi All So the butchery begins, but firstly the paddle box supports were glued in place and the front and rear core running boards added to each side the running boards will be planked later on in the build. Next it was line up the paddle boxes with the running boards and the bulwarks, mark the pieces of bulwark to be removed so the Paddle boxes slide in and are held in place by the bulwarks. Just one cut out so far but the other will follow shortly. More soon. That butchery bit looks a bit scary, but looks like you`ve made an excellent job of it. Looks very neat when the paddle cover is fitted, WTG. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
