This photo shows the deck head test fitted looking forward. I like this image as you can see the detail in No3. Main Ballast Tank [MBT] as mentioned in a previous post.

Its looking really good and you have been spot on with the accuracy of your assemble to get all of those internal parts to fit so neatly.
Happy Modelling

Thanks for looking in Tony. It took a while [2 weeks] to get all these parts correct.

Hi Phil, thanks for looking in. Yes, I do think it's worth modifying the parts slightly.

It works for me anyway. Chopping part of the hull out after it's been sanded, undercoated etc and then try and refit it right at the end if the build seems daft.

Regards,
Phil.

One other thing Phil; as for getting the dremel out to make the parts fit, I would of had to do that even if I had removed the hull section as it was the MDF supports at the back stopping the plastic parts from fitting. It was easier to grind the plastic parts down than to try and file away the MDF supports when they're right at the back and difficult to get to.

Hope this makes sense!Blink

Phil W.

Hi Dave, I'm currently working my way forward through the boat getting the internal compartments ready for paint. One compartment left; the Torpedo Compartment. I should have this ready by end of May. Then I can undercoat, topcoat and varnish all the compartments. They will all be ready then for fitting out. As for the exterior, there are some brass strips to add and they don't get issued for another 3 weeks or so. When they're on I can add the rivets and weld lines. These are embossed plastic. I didn't want to fit them yet in case they get knocked off while I'm still handling the boat a fair bit. The undercoat will seal them firmly. Once the compartments are painted I guess mid June the hull will see paint. It will really start to come to life then.

Thanks for looking in.
Regards,
Phil W
