Hi, I've been looking at this 3D printer's 50% off deal and I have a couple of questions if anyone can help me? (sorry if they have already been answered else ware on the forum) 1) According to there website the Autodesk 123 app is no longer available from early April so are there any other programs that I will be able to use to access the templates or is it available from another source? http://www.123dapp.com/
and.... 2) Does anybody know if it is compatible with Microsoft's 3D Scan App, the one that uses the Kinect sensor? https://www.microsoft.co.../p/3d-scan/9nblggh68pmc
Thanks in advance May.

Hi May There should be several programes out there that will do the same as the 123 app its just a case of finding the one that suits what you intend to do. If you follow the comments down people starting to provide links to alternative's. Also repetitor host is an alternative to consider:- https://www.repetier.com/tutorials/
The scanner I wouldnt like to comment on as I have never used it, but I suspect it comes with a full software bundle that allows you to set up whatever you have scanned. It might be a good idea to ask microsoft about the compatibility of the scanner with the 3D printer first before splashing out on it as they will know more. Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

I grabbed a copy of 123D Design just before they shut down last week. I'opennig a call to determine if it is allowed to share this copy, now that 123D Design is for all intents and purposes abandonware. There's still copies out on major software hosters like Heise. https://www.heise.de/dow...roduct/123d-design-89217

I have done some research on 3d scanners and for the most part they are not very good unless you want to spend a lot of money. The problem is often they fail to generate a watertight 3d model which makes it impossible to print the object you scan without fixing the model yourself.

Hi, Thanks Carl, Yes the price has put me off until now which is why this 50% offer appeals to me, I think it's like anything else it's still a fairly new concept that will improve with age - but then again I said that about 3D TV's May.

May. Hmmm. Try this one instead, it should hopefully work. It does for me at least. Maybe it's region specific. https://www.heise.de/dow...ownload/danke?id=89217-1
