Is there any reason that when planking (which I'm finally about to begin somewhat apprehensively) you can't push the pin all the way in to hold the plank??

I only ask as I am going for a painted finish so once sanded (most likely filled!) and then painted you wouldn't see them?!

Hi Blue_Joe, I started out planking not using pins and found that some of the planking sprang away from the points where they were originally glued to, The PVA glue I was using did not seem up to the job, but since then, I have been pinning my planks, pushing them halfway home then lopping off the heads before filing the nails even with the planks? i.e It is easier to file away the clipped nails rather than the heads...hope this helps...

If you don't file away the heads on the pins they will be completely off-scale

My point is once sanded and painted you won't see them! So scale is not going to come into it!
