Having trouble with the steering pinion engaging with the steering rack. Even with the pinion gear box that goes over it the steering wheel when turning does not engage the steering rack could anyone please help me Dean

see how it sits just above even with the black pinion gear box sitting in the chassis it still sits above the rack Dean

I've got exactly the same problem. Took it apart and reassembled but get the same problem

Hi Dean Looking at your photos it looks like there is a problem with the way you have the steering box and steering rack assembled. The rack should be on the other side of the box. Can you post a picture of underneath showing the whole steering rack assembly as I suspect this isnt quite right Here are a couple of quick pictures I took this morning on the way out the door to work. davetwin attached the following image(s):

I've had the same issue, but since the front wheels are still poseable, (I won't be pushing it up and down the carpet going brum brum and reversing into shoebox garages, ) it's no big deal Hope that doesn't sound sarcastic, it's not meant to be

Let me know how you get on. If you need to refer back to the instructions to check anything you'll want to look at
Issue 39 would be worth double checking all the track rods are assembled correctly
Issue 41 covers attaching the steering rack to the chassis. The rack geering teeth should fit almost touching the chassis, the lip of the steering box should hold the rack right up to the chassis. In you picture the rack is on the wrong side of the lip and there is a massive gap between the geering teeth of the rack and the chassis

Hi with regards to the steering problem,i have the same problem on close inspection i find that the pinion on the end of the steering rod does not appear to go forward enough, it seems to hit the cross member and it wont drop onto the steering gear, i am not sure if this looks to be the problem to any one else, info would be good. hi just sorted my problem with the steering i had the rack under the bracket that holds it up so now works perfectly so sorted thanks for the pics thats where i noticed it
