A chance to win a copy of the "Anatomy of the Ship - The 44-gun Frigate USS Constitution" by Karl-Heinz Marquardt.

The internationally-acclaimed draftsman and author Karl-Heinz Marquardt worked closely with the team at the Constitution to ensure that the book is accurate and up-to-date in her 1812-1815 appearance.
Dozens of photographs and some 250 perspective and 3-view drawings are included along with fully descriptive keys and a large-scale foldout plan on the reverse side of the jacket.

Now out of print, this 128 page hardback book is a valuable sought after reference source.

Competition rules:

The competition will consist of 5 USS Constitution related questions and is open to all ModelSpace members.

Please note: Competition entry is only open to Modelspace USS Constitution Subscribers - the winner must provide proof of Subscription for the USS Constitution.
No cash alternative and only 1 prize on offer. The prize will be shipped worldwide.

A question will be posted each day across 5 days. Once you have all 5 answers, you can then post you entry into this topic.
The first member to get all 5 correct answers will be deemed the winner, think long and hard before you post your entry!!

Good luck!

As an example of some of the silly prices out there look at the link provided by May below. Makes it a no brainer to try and win our copy in the comp.

The first entry question of five noted below. - please refer to the rules at post #1

1. How did USS Constitution get the name "Old Ironsides" and which Royal Navy ship had the "Old Irionsides" name before her?

Mr T,

The kit has yet to be announced in the US (as of my writing this). As the competition is now live and open to all subscribers, how are we to handle this? Confused

Firstly, you need to be the first member to post all five correct answers - the first correct entry will be deemed the winner.

USS Constitution will initially go on sale in the UK, then Germany then USA, Italy, Spain and France.

The prize will be shipped as soon as the winner has provided proof of subscription (from which ever country the USS Constitution is being offered for sale).

For example, if it is a USA winner, the book will not be shipped until the kit has gone on sale in the USA and the winner provided proof of subscription etc.

If after 1 month of the title having gone on sale in which ever country the winner resides in, and the winner not provided proof of subscription, then the second entry with all five correct answers will be deemed the winner by default.

As it happens, for the final question, timezone has been taken into consideration which does not apply to Australia as it's not going on sale there, which narrows the odds of you winning, though the final question could send you on a wild goose chase which should be fun enough for you Flapper LOL
