Hi,

I had a 'battle' with the B spokes myself, what I did was to use glue instead of tape to hold the A spokes in place which allowed me to push the B spokes though with more force, then I used some tweezers to hook them into place, being a tight fit there was no need to use glue on these.

I know it's annoying but don't give up this is such a beautiful build it would be a shame if you cancelled.

I am sorry that in view of some that I have started "another thread" on this subject.

I am very new to this forum (the clue is in the red marker on the left) and just finding my way around, and all I could see, on joining, was one thread on this, and a very generous offer by Mustang (i think it was) to build the wheels.

However, I received a very helpful PM from someone and should guide me forward.

I won't post again in any case. It seems I bore people

I built my wheel twice because I wanted to try something with issue 5.

First I built it the way the instructions said to do, bag A then bag B then bag A again and so on and so on..



On the second try I changed my way of adding the spokes.

As spoke B's are higher on the hub and look the same length then they need more pressure to secure them, which means when adding these after spoke A spoke A may pop out.

So I did all spoke B's first, this gave the hub the final height, which meant that when adding all of the spoke from bag A there was less stress on the spokes and they more or less just fell into place.

But doing it this way you will have to thread the spoke a little bit more, but I found it made it a lot easier to fit them.

I'm sorry for my grumpy post yesterday. I must have been having a bad day.

I can assure you it wasn't my intention to put you off posting or give the impression that you were boring!! This forum has been a massive help to me with my builds and I'm sure you'll find it the same.

I'm glad someone has PM'd you with some tips for the wheels. This is my third modelspace build, the others being the two McLaren f1 kits. With each of those there were stages where I stuggled- usually with the exhausts!! - and the forum helped me on both occasions. The way I see it, there'd be far less satisfaction in completing a build if they were too easy. And the good thing about the partwork format is that if you do completely mess something up, you can always re-order that stage and have another go, something which I've done once or twice.

Good luck with your build, and keep contributing to the forum. Don't let one grumpy old man put you off. I'm harmless really.

ovens and rubber tyres worry me please be very very careful with this.

normal practice (watching fingers) is drop the the item into boiling water which is at a temperature that will not damage the part but can burn your fingers (but at the same time make yourself a decent cup of tea).

Ovens equal distraction - phone call, family maybe a young one trying the patience? Burning rubber is not a nice smell so please work with care.

Pleased that you are all sorted because i do know the frustration when things do not go right.

I had a problem with missing spokes and am due to receive a replacement issue from CS. As this means I will have spares, I have no problem in sending out replacements if people are missing a couple of 'A' or 'B' spokes from issue 5 until I run out.

Just send me a PM with your address and I'll send them as soon as possible once I have them from CS.
