I first purchased this model way back (probable 20 years ago) when it first came out and discovered some years later that it had been donated to a charity amongst a whole load of other kits I had sorted out for donation (learning point for me was never keep together your giveaways and keeps in the same room and trust Mum to know which ones had to go BigGrin )

Over the years I have had the occasional look to see if I could replace it but its been long out of production in the markings I wanted to until recently have seen little in the way of this appearing second hand and when it has its been for prices way beyond what I could afford or be prepared to pay for if I could.

I had heard that the kit is released in different markings under the revel again not quite what I was after.

Anyhow to get to the point I finally managed to track the model down from a source in France. Its always a bit of a gamble but please to say it arrived as advertised (or from what I could understand of the ad as it was all in French) and I must admit to being well pleased having finally found this one again.

Its not planned to be built at the moment as I have far too many part completed builds outstanding (having caring responsibilities plus a day job that has me working on average 10 hours for 7 hours pay curtails my time considerably.

Its in some small way a thanks to DaveTwin because his recent build of a phantom was what got me spurred on to try and search down this kit again.

"never keep together your giveaways and keeps in the same room and trust Mum to know which ones had to go"

I know exactly what you mean - I once had years worth of the old Airfix Modelling Magazines - full of really good articles and conversions - Where are they? I once asked Mum, Oh I saw they were all out of date so I ...

You get the idea!Crying Crying CryingBlink

Glad you finally found it Tony!

Nice find Tony.

Don't do aircraft as a rule, but wish I had that one in the stash as it brings back a lot of happy childhood memories -and some sad ones - as I grew up as the child of the base Newsagents.

Looking forward to your diary on this one, whenever you get round to her.

Dave

Your build did inspire me to seek this one out. Not sure when i will ever get around to building an ever growing stack of models but you turned out such a great model it re-kindled my want for this long lost kit.

I always thought as you got older life become easier but since my Dad passed away 3years ago now my Mum has struggled by the day and that on top of a nightmare of a job puts paid to much of my hobby time.

Sometimes feel a bit of a fraud being on here because while i post comments i very rarely post my own updates despite having the best intemntions of doing so.

Still i do love seeing what everyone else is working on.
