What ship model to build is as much import (if not more) then in which size to build a model. I thought I better first see what is available and then decide about size later on.
From this site I am mostly interested in the HMS Victory and the San Francisco. I ditched the HMS Victory because it is too big. The San Francisco II is very nice. It reminds me of those ships that used to navigate in the Spanish Main. I love this period a lot and therefore I am mostly interested in models of this epoch.
I did find another similar model; the San Martin, not on this website however. I was wondering, does anyone know of any ship models of this era? Maybe representing ships with a rich history!!
Also what do you people think about the quality of the San Francisco? As I am right now, if I do not find anything better, I think I am going to go for the San Francisco - even though as from what I read on wikipedia this ship never touched the Spanish Main!

Which ship you build is going to be a matter for personal preference as you discussed in the other thread. A convenient way of finding out which kits are available might be to go to Cornwall Model Boats Static display Kits This will give you a convenient web page with links to several kit manufacturers. You can then see what there is that you might be interested in. Whether you order from CMB or choose a more convenient supplier for Malta is up to you. BTW I have no connection with CMB other than as a satisfied customer. Mike T
