Very nice work Alan, look excellent. I'm looking at starting something similar soon, once I've finished the Falcon, so I'm trying to get as many tips as possible, and I'll be watching your progress, as I'll probably be out of my comfort zone with it. Mark

Mark Thanks Mark, appreciate you looking in and commenting....  ... This one is a challenge purely due to the way the hull is constructed so I wouldn't say this one is for someone who hasn't built a plank on frame kit before.. I'd recommend doing something like the Swift first and if that's successful then have a go at something like this.... Have to say though this is a very enjoyable build to do.... Regards Alan

Moved the build forward a little more by capping the handrail. This is capped with a walnut strip and that means having to cut the strip into trapezoid shapes in order to follow the profile of the handrail. Once fitted it was then a case of sanding everything smooth on the inside and outside of the rail. .. Then moved to fitting the rubbing strake to the stern and finishing that area off.... Now moved onto to shaping and test fitting the framing for the flooring. Everything under this framing will not be seen so to add additional strength to the hull I painted that area over with diluted PVA and left to dry, hull certainly feeling a lot more secure now... Last thing I did for this session was to glue the framing in place. Next we start to add some of the detail so until then, happy modelling all.... Thanks Walter, the handrail wasn't too bad but being walnut then trying to bend laterally is a no-no. The strip s wider than the rail so by cutting into trapezoid sections and taking a little care means it will cover the rail with little problems.... Regards Alan

A little more done to this one. Planked the forward and stern bulkheads as well as the bow deck with walnut strips, gave it all a fine sanding followed by 2 coats of Danish Oil, think it really brought the grain out to good effect. . Next was to carry on building up the flooring, adding the framework to take the gratings and various other fittings, these will be shown later in the build. More soon....
