Thanks again! So here`s what i`ve done this Weekend.
First up was the ships`s wheel. I purchased Mike`s enhancement quite some time ago and i must say this one really makes a difference! Each wheel consists of 14 small parts. As i was sure not to achieve a matching colour on the metal i decided to leave the wheels in bare metal, which gives a good contrast to the surrounding wood.
Also i corrected the backward wheel-support, added the steering-rope and the blocks through which they are guided as well as some painted details.I added the decorations of the bulwarks and prepared the plastic sheet for the poop deck:Finally i added the ledge (?) which runs from the cabin walls to the wheels (i guess that`s where the splinter guard was hooked in (?)) and scratch-built a mast-collar for the mizzen-mast:DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter

That wheel looks fantastic. I wish these enhancement parts where still available. They add the icing to a great cake.
Do you mind me asking., why are you putting plastic under the deck? I'm intrigued :-/
Lovely build!

Thanks guys!
@Neil For once the plastic sheet gives the whole deck more stability (e.g. with the poop deck there`s a gap of several inches between the last deck-beam and the transom).
But the main purpose is that is use 4mm deck planks which i lay in a particular butting pattern (you can see this with my main deck). This is hard to do without a continous surface. Otherwise you could only butt two planks where there is a deck beam. Greetings, Walter

Hi Walter,
Thanks for clearing that up. It makes perfect sense now.
So is that the plank pattern of the real Victory decks?
Thanks,
Neil

To my knowledge no one knows the exact planking pattern of the victory as it was in 1805. I thinks there are much more experts in this forum than me who can tell you something about that topic.
I did a lot of research and especially read Wolfram zu MOndfeld`s "Historische Schiffsmodelle" - which is the german standard ouevre regarding ship-models - and he says that this was one of the (and certainly not the only one ) patterns used at that time.
What i can certainly say is that the plank-measurements i use (4mm width and 12cm lenght) is more accurate than the ones used in the instructions.
Who knows if it`s exactly right? I thinks the main issue is that you like what you built.
(by the way: advices regarding my english are always welcome as with all the very special naval vocabulary i just can hope that everyone understands what i am trying to say!) :)Greetings, Walter

Thanks Alan, Garth!
This is some minor update. I prepared the guns for the main deck, installed the first two guns - as the area won`t be easily accessible once the poop deck is installed - and glued the plastic base for the poop.Next step will be planking the poop-deck.DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter
