In 1933 My Grandfather joined the Navy, in 1936 He served on HMS Barham for a Year leaving her in early 1938.

In 1939 HMS Barham Collided with the Destroyer HMS Duchess. on board was my Grandfathers youngest brother Peter Port. Peter drowned aged just 19 as the Dutchest capsized and Peter worked in the engineering room

This is a link to a survivors account that mentions Peter Fort, I now now this to be a miss-spelling and the account refers to my Great Uncle.

http://www.hmsbarham.com...hmsduchesscollision.php

My Grandfather will be 99 this year and now lives in a nursing home, on his wall, despite the fact that he has lost his sight, hangs a picture of HMS Barham.

This is my Model of Barham in its display case.

Fantastic work Jase!Cool Cool Cool
I've got a collection of 1/700's and can appreciate just how miniscule and fiddly they are. Still got about a dozen unbuilt out in the old workroom. You can tell how old they are by the Tamiya HMS King George V with a price tag still on the box at £2.99!!
A great tribute as the others have said, well done!
