Steve. An old trick of mine is to put the parts in the freezer. Multiple freeze/thaw cycles should break the superglue down - at least enough so you should be able to continue with a bit of careful knife-work. The obvious downside is that it will affect all of the glue, not just the stuff you want it to. If you can get the glue off, but it damages some of the parts from issue 5, send me a PM, I may be able to replace them for you. Gary. i think i will be cancelling this as i am not happy with the wheels construction, tried a few times now and still not happy with it, so i have no enthusiasm to carry on with this build. shame

Try the 'two-cross' method of spokes. It might be far easier for you and it isn't wrong. E Types had 2-cross and 3-cross wheels at varying times.
In the bigger picture, the wheels are a small part of the whole build. Hopefully you won't give up.

The wheels can be built with the first sets of spokes crossing 3 times, as per the instructions, or just crossing twice. To begin with, many people found crossing two spokes was far easier, but it was 'wrong'.
As it turns out, genuine E Type wheels were made with both types of spoke pattern so the 2 cross way of building the kit wheels is actually ok.
Have a look at some of the wheel tutorials on the forum here. It will all make sense.
Roy.

I think that once you get that first one done the others won't be a problem for you. Al

to be honest al, its fine putting the first ones in, spokes A, putting B spokes in keeps pulling the previous ones out, i have no more patience with it to be honest, its not fun and i cant look at it anymore, hence my decision to cancel it tomorrow, shame as i did want this model, but if you take the fun out of model making, it becomes a chore, if you see what i mean.

We all have moments on models where we want to bin them off for whatever reason so we can all see where you're coming from and empathise with you. I wouldn't be hasty and cancel yet, give it a couple of days and try the wheel again, in the meantime put a pic up of how your wheel looks so I can get a clearer picture of where the issue is. Don't give up yet, if I can get the wheel built then so can everyone and plenty already have and you will too. Al

You shouldn't give up Steve, we all hit parts of a build that gets us truly frustrated but we tend to persevere. Give it another go, you'll find in the end all the hassle was truly worthwhile. Have a feeling if you give it up you'll only regret it further down the line.... There is lots of assistance here to help you overcome this issue and get you back on track..... Good luck with it.... Regards Alan

Coming back to it at a later date is no bad thing, better than giving up altogether and remember, we're here to help you get through this when you do get back to it.... Regards Alan

I understand your frustration Steve, but best to step back and then take a fresh approach. There will be a solution to your issue and when it`s all done you`ll wonder what the fuss was about and have a great model. Chin up. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
