Thanks for the comments guys Well I am back to building the good old SR Having dusted her off I started planking the upper hull but now I have all the packs I am going to deviate from the instructions a bit especially the planking as I don't like planks tapering to a point so will be putting in droppers and steelers . As you can see I have made up one of the anchors and cannon. I'm not to sure about the cannon as I want to rigg them so will see if I can drill the metal gun truck or make up wooden ones also I have painted the cannon with bronze paint and picked out the decorations with gold. The small deck over the main deck will be left off until the cannons are rigged but that won't happen until the planking is complete on the outside of the ship Thanks for looking rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Martyn That is looking vey impressive. What a massive ship this must have been just looking at the scale height you are working with and the amount of planking. Interrsted to to which way you go with the canon carriages as some of those metal castings can be very hard and the kind of mini drill bits struggle to have any effect on them. Hope the rest of your build continues well. Happy Modelling

Thanks all for looking in and the brilliant comments I'm really looking forward to building this as its nice to have proper measurements and pictures unlike the pathetic excuse for instructions that you get with the Vasa lol I think I might have to make some new carriages for the cannons Tony but watch this space . I am also going to plank the inside of the gunport bulwarks and lots more bits and pieces Thanks again for following rgd Martyn Building ? Completed. Soliei Royal . Sovereign of the Seas . Virginia .
