Next task was the forecastle. Again studying Pictures and my books i somewhat deviated from the instructions.
I made the forward bulwarks less high (6mm).Also they go further back to the front opening of the waist. There is next to no decline in height of the bulwark. Also what i could see from pics - the forecastle bulwarks were painted black - not yellow ochre:I used a 5x5mm strip as cattail:Finally i attached the cap strips at the waist:I spent quite some time thinking about those cap strips. In my opinion they don`t look right. 2mm strips would mean about 17cm on the real ship - i think that`s too thick. Also there was next to no overhang to the inside - so i think the 10mm strips are too wide. Next thing is i want my cap strips to follow the curve at the bow (if possible) - in the instructions they just run straight to the forward bulwark - which doesn`t look right.
So i decided to use 1x8mm strips for the rest of the cap strips - which means i have to wait about a week for delivery of those strips.
I hope this will give the ship a more "slim" and elegant look.
What do you guys think about my thoughts? Your advice is always welcome!DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter

Thanks guys!
While waiting for the cap-strips to arrive i moved on with the channel moulding.
Unfortunately i realized htat i had previously glued one of the moulding stripes too high so that there was no room for the channel moulding at the stern gun ports.
So i had to strip down the lower stripe - which was painful! (but worked out better than i though!)DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter

Entry ports are done! I must admit this is not my best work - but i somewhat lost the patience. The paintwork is not very satisfying.
Also it wasn`t until everything was attached and dry that i realised that one of the roofs is not completely horizontal. Thanks for looking in!DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter

Thanks guys!
I´m afraid all my embedded pictures are gone! As you can see photobucket - with which i worked for several years without any problems - suddenly wants me to upgrade my account - for a yearly fee of about 400 Dollars!!!
As i can`t afford that - it seems that my pics are gone for good!
I´m very upset!!Greetings, Walter
