I've dug out a few models I've yet to do, and now getting the F1 bug again I thought I'd share with you some details.
Tyrrell P34 - Tamiya 1/20 Japan 1976I bought this last year, it contains as you can see the PE set and fabric seat belts, the only thing that could be changed is the slick tyres, in fact I did see some rain tyres on the net some time ago but can't find them now. It's pretty much all in the box job here, I hope to add some nice engine details and those rain tyres if I can get them and the price is right.
The kit also contains the excellent Cartograf decals, probably the best there is.
well ive just found those tyres as I type....£25!!!!
next up
Lotus 99T Honda - Tamiya 1/20Now this one is a conversion jobby for me, to change it to the black JPS Lotus 98T.
I bought the conversion decals from a guy in Belgium, not cheap, there is a PE set for these but I've decided not to, instead this model will be a static 'road side' version, meaning no engine detailing as the cowling's are in place, its a stunning car on its own.
Ive collected many 100's of pictures of the real thing and the conversion model and some have taken drastic action to change the look and other have simply used the new decals sheet to great effect.
This is whats possible...
There is an amazing web site that sells PDF's of F1 car conversion, I dont think I should be putting the link up but do a search for..."modelersite"
I have the 99T conversion to 98T PDF and can only say its just inspiring.
So there we have it, I'm hoovering over the BUY button for the McLaren M23 as I speak, along with the other bits that go with it..mmm
I also have a wish list (who doesn't)and this one come up again and again.
Tamiya 1/12 Tyrrell 003 with P/E - £100 ish
Tamiya's re-release of the 1:12 Tyrrell 003 (12039). The re-release includes new photo etched parts and decals printed by Cartograf.
New photo-etched parts (brake disc, radiator, rear wing tips, seat belt buckles etc) and cloth type seat belts included for greater realism.
Cartograf decals.
Newly designed packaging.
It is possible to make both 1971 and 1972 models.
You see what I mean, just stunning!!!!
So I think first the M23, then this, as its got the PE set included there should be no reason to buy extras, apart from engine detailing parts.
