Memory can be a funny thing, but as far as I can recall, my very first model kit was the little 1/32 Airfix Bentley. I might be wrong - there may have been others before but I don't remember any.

I do vividly remember building the kit on a hot summer day, in my dad's shed, sitting on the doorstep and working on the single paving slab outside which for the next few years was my work bench. I was about 9-10 years old.

I've always remembered that little kit. I painted it red.(?)
One popped up on Ebay some weeks ago still bagged and unopened and I just had to get it.

I put in an insane maximum just to be sure, with about 10 secs to go.
Of course, I got the kit for FAR less but don't ask.

It will never be built.

At the mo' it's in another clear bag, pinned to the wall near my desk.
It will eventually go in a display case.

Daft, or do you think I'm not a loony?

Roy.
