So they are using a stereolithography 3d printer for some of the parts.Interesting.

The Porsche 917LH also has printed bits. Nothing major though, just small engine details.

BigGrin They used stereolithography on the Musashi and the first Yamato kits too so they have been using it since 2012 as a production processCool

It just seems like such an expensive way to produce parts.I guess it really shows how dedicated MFH is to the highest quality.I mean you are looking at a minimum of $5k for a SLA printer with a small print bed and the resin and tanks are really expensive.

BigGrin They really are highly detailed works of art when you see them in the flesh and quite impressive when you see the size of them and the other parts supplied done using the same processCool

BigGrin Hi all

The attention to detail on this kit is way above your normal 1/700 kits even down to the dry decal that is attached to the etch deck to represent the wooden deck.

The process to attach it is in three stages and includes the removal of three carrier films to complete the attachment of the decal and leaves the best looking wooden deck decal that I have ever seen.

Links below to a video showing the deck decal attachment and the prep in pictures for the photopolymer Funnel, Bridge and Mast:-
