Once that was done I test fitted the deck and also the torpedo tubes to check for clearance. All looking good! BigGrin

The Torpedo Compartment is now ready for undercoating! Cool

All the compartments are now paint ready but before I can start on that there are some other smaller jobs to be done externally on the hull.

Starting from the bow and working aft I will over the next two weeks add any part-works supplied parts, carry out running repairs and scratch build any items in readiness for adding the weld lines and rivets.

First job was to carry out some running repairs at the bow section. Three different sections of brass strip rivets had partially lifted away due to handling and required a spot of glue to remake the bond.

Once I was happy the rivet strips were all laying flat I then proceeded to look at the part-works supplied brass strips that run along the port and starboard sides near the bow.

The attached photo shows one of the brass strips fitted to the starboard side. It took a few attempts as there is twist to the hull and the strip wouldn't adhere as it flexed too much. My method was to hold it in place with one hand and run a bead of glue along it's edges in small sections ensuring it adhered properly all the way along. It might still add 1.0mm aluminium pins along it's length at some point to make sure it doesn't come away. That will be a job for later.
