I have just won an old Comet Miniatures kit of the TV Dalek from the classic Dr Who eras. This will join my growing council of Supreme Daleks [the black ones] that range from the original TV story "The Daleks", through the two films, and up to the Sylvester McCoy story "Remembrance of the Daleks". If I get enough feedback, I may even do him as a standard worker/soldier/drone Dalek in silver. Timberwolf, You are aware we are talking classic here, not the current rubbish where we have just learned that Peter Capaldi's replacement is a woman. No NSDs, no "You can tell it's Mattel!" here. Just classic "Evil Pepper-pot" of the Supreme kind. Actually, that gives me an idea. all the Supreme Daleks are mainly black, usually with Gold accents. I just might do one in metallic pink with gold accents. That way I could have a council of Supreme Daleks led by the Dalek Supreme. [Look up the group "The Supremes", you may even find a picture of them in the sparkly pink dresses] Current Builds Eaglemoss: Ecto-1, BTTF Delorean [Installing Mods] Hachette: T800 Endoskeleton Agora Models Shelby Cobra 427 [Plate 031] BanDai 1:5000 Imperial Star Destroyer AMT 1991 U.S.S. Will the new TV series be introducing the Cyberwomen this year?

wow cannot believe the anti female Dr stuff. The new Dr is a fantastic actress looking forward to what she brings to the role “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

FA-BRI-CATE! Yes, please, a Dalek diary would be awesome. I don't know Jodie Whitacker. But it was high time for a female doctor, my favorite would have been Hayley Atwell.

No - not anti female at all. It just seems a bit odd that the doctor can regenerate into a different gender. Mind you, in the world of Sci-fi, anything can happen. I bet Rose Tyler will be looking at 'her' Doctor (David Tennant) a bit sideways now though...

Well we just had the Master and Missy situation. Also the Time Lord General regenerating into a woman on-screen in Hell Bent.

Well we have pink cars in Formula One now, a sport that has always been vastly more dominated by the male gender, so why not have a pink Dalek? I think it would be cool!!
Wouldn't a female Dalek be more inclined to say "EXT-ERM-IN-ATE .... DAR-LING" and blow a robotic kiss rather than a bolt of electricity though!?

Not got anything against strong female characters. I just don't like this "Gender is optional" line they are currently taking. There always have been Time Lords, and we have previously seen Time Ladies without any indication that they could be the same individual. Romana was a Time Lady, she even regenerated during the character's role, and we got to see the options. All of them were FEMALE, not a single male form. In the classic series, every form taken by the doctor, and the times when he was shown forms to choose from, were all MALE. So yes, more strong female characters would be a good move for the show, but this is just silly. Bring on a Time Lady, don't ruin the Doctor. Edit: Modelmania. a female dalek would probably be more appearance obsessed, so would be more likely to say "Ex-Fo-Li-Ate" Why don't you see any female Cybermen ever? Because they are always busy at home, making the new costumes! And with a 100% approval rate, I think that's a go on the Dalek. I'm going home to Wilts at the weekend, so I'll try and bring everything back with me when I do. There are a couple of enhancements that can be made quite easily on the Comet Miniatures models. The gun arm is pretty poor - the ends of the 'wires' are flat moulded, so these will be removed and replaced with the appropriate grade of fuse wire. And the later issues did not come with plastic shoulder mesh like the initial run, it's hexagonal netting, so this will be replaced with filler mesh of the right size diamond pattern. It is also worth noting that the templates supplied for people to cut the netting are slightly wrong. If used at that shape, the sides don't quite match up. Ok. Dalek collected, and it's a beaut! Minor damage to the rods for the weapon - not a problem as I will be replacing them anyway, and the model in question is an early copy, so it's a better version than I had hoped. Looking to get some pictures up of the start over the weekend, but there's quite a bit of prep work to do yet before I will have the parts ready for assembly, so I may do a bit of a "Cut and Shut" in this thread. It'll give you all the information, but will use early pictures which will include work on skirts I have already completed.
