Hi all,
just started my first RC - Truck

The King Hauler Black Edition is a special version for the 20th anniversary of the TAMIYA, which originated in 1993 with the King Hauler. The King Hauler offers thousands of proven truck technology and a spectacular look. The cab and the exemplary technology, with 3-speed manual transmission, ensure a great appearance. The two rear axles are driven by cardan shafts. With the optional multifunctional unit, almost all sound and light functions of the model can be simulated.

Plenty of metal, lots of chrome, and a lot of Black BigGrin

A clean and clearly packaged model was delivered. A step-by-step guide is enclosed. The components are nicely packaged, and sensitive components are supplied for protection against damage in blisters.

I started with putting together the Frame. These are fully Metal Parts. But some improvements must be done in any case. The bearing bushes. I am going to replace them too ball-bearings.

Next steps be done on the frame. Here the rear suspension plates were mounted. Next step the leaf springs were assembled. Everything works out right nice. This work can be done, as they do not influence the individual construction sections.

Hi everybody,
thanks i appreciate it very muchBigGrin

Back from work and the weather is very, very bad. We have got very heavy rain, and some towns and subburbs in Germany are struggling with floods. Some places until to 100ltr Rain on a square meter. Not a day to be outside.

So i decided to do some small updates on the King Hauler.
The ball- bearings for the gearbox arrived, so the gearbox can be put together. For a start both axles were already pre-assembled. Gear wheels got a nice "treatment" with Teflon grease, here no problems should occur. At the end of the session, all tires were torn up and glued together. The nice thing about the twin wheels is, here the rims are screwed together, and not glued.

The next step was mounting the axes . I replaced the brass sockets with the new ball- bearings. It is equally clear that here is a completely different interaction between the Axle shafts and bevel gears . Everything is moving smoove and well. Next step was done.

The last construction phase for today was starting to put together the three-speed gearbox . Cool was the composition of the three-speed transmission. Its nice to see how the three shift forks, pinions and gears work together. Everything is fine by using the ball bearings that have come.last step was mounting the Gearbox into the frame. Now the Truck is standing on his WheelsBigGrin
