Thanks for the comments guys The arm is slowly getting better and thanks for the good wishes Right on to the good bit I have finished the first planking and given it a good sanding and a bit of filler very pleased with the way it's turned out The planking on the stern and forecastle has been applied as per instructions Now starting the planking on the sides of the ship. I have deviated very slightly from the instructions as I have fitted the false keel as I like to plank up against it so there is no gap visible. The next change is I am lining the inside of the cannon ports instead of painting them by using the left over planks from the ships boats Thanks for following rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Completed. Soliei Royal . Sovereign of the Seas . Virginia . Scotland . San Felipe . Corel vasa , Santisima Trinadad X section , Vasa Next Build ? Thank you very much for the comments guys A bit more done on the SR I have started planking the lower hull and now moving upwards towards the top. To keep the planks inline I had to put in a half stealer and looking how they are going I might have to put one more in but we shall see hopefully the next instalment will be the whole hull will be complete Cheers for looking rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Cheers guys for the great comments I have now finished the second planking and have given it a light sanding and a coat of varnish. I got away with only two droppers and three stealers and really happy how it's turned out Next job painting the upper hull. For every body saying that's a bit early I'm not following the instructions as I want to fully rig the cannons plus it's easier to paint now before I fit the whale as it will give me a nice clean line The whales were fitted next and I have joined them together with a scarf joint Once the whales have been fitted it's on to fitting the cannons to the main deck and the cross deck over the top of them See you soon Rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ?
